Rhodonite is a mineral, found mainly in rose-pink with black veins shades. Its name derives from the Greek word "rhodon" (rose), because of its color that reminds that of a rose.
Although its description as a gemstone took place in the 19th century, rhodonite has been known from many centuries ago, used mainly for decorative objects and sarcophaguses. During the Middle Ages, it was considered to be a powerful stone, endowed with magical powers, bringing happiness, honor and joy.
Rhodonite, a stone of love, brings emotional balance, nourishes love and strengthens the feeling of brotherhood for humanity. It is very useful in cases of emotional self-destruction, interdependence and abuse.
Rhodonite has also the capacity to make us see both sides of an issue and helps us to be more objective and to transform this way our negative feelings into understanding and forgiveness.
Rhodonite is believed to be extremely helpful in treating wounds, emphysema, arthritis, stomach ulcers, while it relieves from insects' bites. It is also beneficial to the hearing, and it is considered that it stimulates fertility.
