On the front side of the pendant, Virgin Mary and emperor Constantine the Great are depicted, both holding a patriarchal cross. Inscription in Greek Byzantine fonts reads : THEOTOKOS (Mother of God for Virgin Mary) and Constantine.
On the back side of the coin pendant, emperor John II Comnenus is depicted crowned by Virgin Mary. Inscription in Greek Byzantine fonts reads : IOA DE (for John Despot) and PORFYROG (for Porfyrogenitus).
